San Francisco Easter

Image From Pixabay
Not everyone celebrates Easter, but there are some traditions and events that go along with the holiday that everyone can participate in regardless of your beliefs. The holiday is especially fun if you have young children in your family. Easter eggs hunts and photos with the Easter bunny, there’s tons of fun to be had! So grab your baskets for eggs and make sure your bunny ears are on tight because we have some bunny business to take care of.

For the Adults:

One of our favorite Sunday activities is getting dressed up and heading out to Brunch. This does not need to change because Sunday is a holiday for some. There are plenty of restaurants that are serving delicious Easter Brunches for you to enjoy.

1300 on Fillmore

1300 on Filmore is changing its typical Sunday Brunch for Easter specials that include pastry basket with honey butter and homemade hot-pepper jelly, Blue crab benedict with buttermilk-chive biscuits, tabasco hollandaise and breakfast potatoes and orange marmalade-bourbon glazed ham with sweet potato gratin and blue lake beans. This delicious menu is only $45 dollars a person and comes with live music. You can be seated at 11 am, 1pm and 3pm.

Chaya Brasserie

Chaya Brasserie will give you the three course brunch of your dreams for $50, plus $20 dollars for bottomless mimosas. You can choose duck confit donburi or many of their other Easter specials. Kids are also welcome with a $20 menu and an Easter basket filled with gifts.

For the Kids:

Just a short two miles from your home at The Wilson is the annual Union Street Spring Celebration and Easter Parade. This free festival is 25 years old and has plenty for kids and adults. The March 27th event runs from 10am-5pm with the parade starting at 2pm.

You can even participate in one of the best Easter egg hunts in the city at the San Francisco Spring Eggstravaganza. This all age Easter egg hunt takes place at Sharon Meadows, Golden Gate Park. This all day event takes place on March 26th from 11am-3pm.

These are just a few of the great Easter events in San Francisco. Easter might not be a holiday for everyone, but the fun traditions and events surrounding the holiday are great for every family to participate in.

Whether you take a stroll on the beach or a run through our many parks, San Francisco will become your new home within a few weeks. However, before you explore outside, it is time to get your place furnished inside. You may be worried that it will be hard to find furniture, but San Francisco has so many great shops that all of your design dreams can come true.

Do you need some design inspiration? We recommend starting off at Pottery Barn. Pottery Barn is a little over two miles away from your home at The Wilson. Their unique and creative furnishings will give you an idea of what you want your home to look like. Do you want more of a modern or classical feel? One day in Pottery Barn will give you the direction you need to start furnishing your home.

You can head to their website to see what they have in store before you buy. With their one-of-a-kind pieces, you may find a perfect centerpiece for your living room or bedroom at this local store.

Now that you have your big pieces, head to Bed Bath and Beyond on 9th Street to get your bedroom and bathroom supplies. It is a short ten minute drive from your home at The Wilson. They even have home appliances that you may have forgotten to bring or pack with you. Check out their website for the great deals they have every day.

St. Patricks Day In The Bay

Get your green on. St. Patrick’s Day is coming up and we cannot wait to celebrate. Even if you are not Irish, you can still celebrate with your friends at many events in the San Francisco area. San Francisco knows how to party, and we have found some great events throughout the next week. So go find your green shirt and beads, you are going to have a great time!

The St. Patrick’s Day parade is an event that everyone looks forward to all year. Green is everywhere as we see some of our favorite local floats and celebrities ride down Market Street. The St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held on March 12th this year. It is also super close to your home at The Wilson. The parade starts around 11:30am and features local officials, Irish dancers and more.

The St. Patrick’s Day festival is from 10am-5pm at the Civic Center Plaza. This festival features performances all day long. You can also participate in the traditional Irish activities along with food and beverages for you to enjoy.

This two day block party will take place on March 12th and March 17th. The party starts at noon and goes until late at the Irish Bank, 10 Mark Lane, San Francisco. The cover is ten dollars and features some great local bands both days. Grab a beer and enjoy these great musical acts on two great days this month.

Irish Bars

If you want to get your Irish on at a local bar, San Francisco has a few to choose from. You can always go to Kate O’Brien’s Irish Bar & Grill. They have features on Irish food all throughout the St. Patrick’s Day Holiday. Many other local bars have St. Patrick’s Day specials throughout the next week too.

We hope you have a safe and happy St. Patrick’s Day with friends and family in San Francisco.

Put That Cellphone Down

Image From Pixabay
Today’s fast paced society can be draining. Being on the go all the time can make you forget the time before you were busy nonstop. With our faces constantly buried in our phones, tablets and laptops both at work and at home, it can distract us from the real world. Even though our phones are great connectors and open up a whole new world to us, sometimes there’s nothing that beats good old face-to-face communication and alone time. In honor of the Day of Unplugging, take a day or even just a few hours to unplug from your electronics and live in the moment.

Now that the weather has been a little kinder to us, it’s almost okay to spend tons of time outside again. Luckily, at The Wilson, we have a great rooftop lounge and kitchen. So even if the weather is still a little chilly, you can still hang out near the rooftop lounge and grill up some burgers. Relaxing in the rooftop area with your pals is a great way to be social without having to be attached to your phone. If all of your friends are already with you, you don’t need to stare at your phone! Hopefully, spring will be here soon so we can start to use the rooftop lounge and kitchen regularly!

One of the best ways to avoid the draw of your phone is to occupy yourself. Strike out into the city for an event! If you’re enjoying yourself and keeping busy, you’ll forget all about your phone and enjoy yourself even further. One of the days of unplugging is March 5th, and San Francisco has a festival that is the perfect distraction. You can head to the San Francisco International Chocolate Salon at the Fort Mason Center. You can distract yourself from your phone while indulging in over 50 chocolatiers from around the region.

Another great way to remove yourself from the burden of technology is to take yourself outdoors! Spending time outdoors is never a waste of time. There are tons of lovely local parks in San Francisco to enjoy. Enjoy a day with the animals at the San Francisco Zoo. Lately, most people at zoos are trying to get the perfect selfie with a penguin. However, take this opportunity to really just watch the animals without looking through your phone.

Enjoy your Day of Unplugging with some distractions to keep your mind off of the fact that your phone isn’t in front of your face.
